On a mission to a DHT with low mechanical complexity but top performance and efficiency, Schaeffler presents at IAA Mobility the innovative MultiMode system. The extremely high system efficiency results in a fuel consumption benefit of up to 16 % in WLTC. The technical setup is suitable for both, plug- in and full hybrids. In the MultiMode, a set of two electric motors, a generator with 110 kW and a drive motor with 125 kW, both in hairpin winding, are geometrically and functionally perfectly integrated in the transmission with major synergy effects. Other highlights comprise the water-cooled integrated inverter and the Schaeffler Smart Hydraulic System, a hydraulic actuation system for park lock and K0 with higher pressure and lower pressure for cooling and greasing of the components.
